Australia sometime in the 90's

Digging around last week, trying to find some random item, I came across a load of 120 slides from my time in Australia back in the 90's. It was a time when I could just take off do a trip and find work along the way.  I managed to shoot a few things with my then trusty Mamiya 6x7 with only a 90mm lens, which meant having to get up close to my subject.
Back then I was always able to blag my way into many different places, thanks to my press card, which was also blagged years before when I worked for a news paper. My croc images was taken at a crocodile farm near Townsville, I simply flashed my press card and the owner took me around and let me photograph what ever I wanted. Instead of shooting from a safe distance the owner came up with the idea of getting me up close. As I took these images I had the owner standing just off to one side of me holding only a stick for protection. I had a great day getting up close to Crocodiles, snakes, and Dingos with no health and safety  apart from that stick.
About a week later I met another photographer who worked for a small town news paper. He was a great contact as he got me in the little known Australian Rodeo scene. Again it was pretty much access all areas. I would stand behind the rodeo clown waiting for the Bull to be released, then experience 8 seconds of madness trying to get an image without getting chased down by the Bull. All in all I had a blast and everyone there look after me.
Looking back it was a great time, and although I don't recall making that much money on these two jobs I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

I hope you enjoy?
