Well here we go 2011, I have made a promise to myself that I'll be mostly blogging this year.
As well as blogging I must concentrate on my landscape photography and my chosen format.
For the last 4 years I have been working with a panoramic format which involves taking 180 and 360 degree images, It's proved very popular with people who are looking for something different to hang on their walls and although i have made some sales I feel if I provided more landscapes and set up a gallery at the studio i could do better.
I produce two different sizes, 48x14 at £200 or 72x18 at £300. These are all printed to canvas and stretched over a frame as well as being UV sealed.
Of course being based in Suffolk I'll be trying very hard to capture nice Suffolk landscapes, but hopefully I well have the chance to do a bit of traveling around the country, so I'll try and secure landscapes further afield. I do go to London now and then for work, Mostly photographing big wigs at London firms wanting to update their head shots ( It's good money and pays the bills). By all accounts London is still very hard to photograph as you often get stop by police and security, wanting to know what you are up to.
One of my most popular London prints is Liverpool Street which you can see posted. I managed to get this image only because I had another job to do at the station and had a press pass from the station master, so I thought while I am here I might as well push my luck. It's been a good seller and to date I have sold 6 canvas, mostly to city types.
If you are local do come to the studio and see are gallery as we have most of my current landscapes hanging in the gallery, or if you live further afield feel free to contact us.
Thats my blog for now, but hopefully next Sunday I'll have more to say.
